About Me

My name is Philippa and I am a professional dog carer.  My first memory is of a dog.  My mums’  dachshund sat constantly guarding my carrycot and then never leaving my side as i continued on my adventures.  I know that is were my love of animals began.  I was crazy about dogs and developed a love for horses too.

I grew up in a small hamlet in the beautiful countryside of Huddersfield and began riding horses around the age of 6.  I was very lucky and my parents bought me my first pony aged 8.

My riding went from strength to strength and I began competing on my pony, spending every weekend at horse shows ( the dogs came too) and every minute outside with my beloved dogs and horses.I was adamant all through my education I would have a career with animals and my parents supported my decision to work with horses when I left school.  I went to Brackenhurst Agricultural college where is studied BHSAI for horses and business management.  I went on to work with some of the top Producers of Show Horses and Ponies before gaining my first clients and opening my own yard.  Successfully producing some top class ponies, teaching young people and working with their families.  See gallery.

Unfortunately some years later I lost my yard due to my parents divorce.  I am now living in a small village near Halifax, with stunning countryside and scenery, miles of miles of public footpaths and dog walks.

My partner and I do not live together, we have been together for 15 years, we share 3 beautiful King Charles Cavalier Spaniels.  Coco age 10, Zippy and Luna age 2.  The dogs are more than happy to be at either home, even though we all spend every day together.

I have a small cleaning and Maintenance business, with an amazing team which I run from home.  This allows me to spend most of time with my dogs and there are never ever left for more than 3 hours at a time.

I have to admit that most of my spare time is spent out in the countryside, riding horses or walking with my dogs.  I also enjoy cooking, reading and everything outdoors.

How We Work

Your dogs will be cared for like a family pet, following the dogs own individual routine  in our home. Our homes are safe and secure, with gardens and locked gates.  Burglar Alarms and CCTV cameras.  Your dogs safety and security is essential to us.

If you decide you would like your dog to stay with us we need to meet the dog at least twice and stay with us at least once on all planned stays with us.  This helps reduces the stress and anxiety of be separated from the dogs beloved owners.  We can however help out in an unplanned emergency, such as admission to hospital or any crisis you may be experiencing.  We will be highly sensitive to your needs and will work out an individual package to accommodate both the dog and owners needs.

We are licensed for 5 dogs Calderdale HBO0029

We will agree a care exercise and enrichment plan which will include 3 walks a day unless not required.  The dogs will be groomed daily and the health monitored

We can take maximum 2 to 3 large dogs or 3 to 4 smaller dogs at any one time.

We need to be able to give your dogs individual care and attention.

We happy to discuss any emergency rescue foster homes if we have no doggy guests boarding with us
